The Verrutop Solution

Verrutop is a topical treatment for warts and verrucas that uses a Nitrizinc complex to dry out the lesion and promote cell death:

How it works

Verrutop dehydrates the protein-based covering of the HPV virus and weakens the DNA structure of viral proteins. This process mummifies the tissue and helps new cells grow beneath the wart, which can reduce its size and eventually remove it.

How it's applied

We apply Verrutop to the wart, usually after reducing the hard skin on top with a scalpel. The treatment is painless in most cases, but some patients may feel a slight tingling or burning.

Does It Hurt?

The application of the Verrutop treatment is usually completely painless. In some
individuals a burning or stinging sensation may be experienced which subsides the same day.

What if I have multiple Veruccas ?

If you have multiple verruca the treatment can be applied to each, as long as they are not what we would class as a large verruca. The costs for having multiple verruca treated with Verrutop is the same as a singular lesion

How often it's applied

The number of treatments needed depends on the age and size of the wart, as well as the patient's age and medical history. On average, patients need several treatments. Applications are applied every 1–2 weeks.

The Aftercare

No dressings are required after treatment, and washing and showering are fine. However, you should avoid long, hot baths, and you can apply surgical spirit to the treated area twice a day to help the desiccation process.

Who is it suitable for ?

Verrutop is best for smaller, raised warts on the tops of toes or feet. Other treatment options may be better for large, long-standing warts.

It takes at least one course of six treatments to remove the verruca. In some cases, more than one course of treatment is needed.

A course of 6 treatments (paid upfront) is £300.
